M/Y KOS | 37M Benetti Classic
The refit of M/Y KOS is a comprehensive project concentrating major structural, technical, and aesthetic upgrades completed in six months. Starting in August 2025, the objective of the refit was to extend the yacht’s operational life and elevate onboard comfort. Under the direct management of the Lusben team, the project successfully combined complex hull and deck structural changes with a complete overhaul of the propulsion, HVAC, and navigation systems.

On the main deck, Lusben coordinated significant structural modifications, including the installation of a new full-height window in the main saloon and the technical assessments required to reconfigure the staircase area between the main and upper decks. At the same time, the interior redesign developed by Laura Rossi introduced a new interpretation of the onboard spaces, centred on greater fluidity, brightness and visual continuity. The new transparent balustrade around the staircase allows natural light to flow between decks, while a backlit bar unit acts as an architectural focal point, redefining the perception of the entire space.
The same philosophy guided the remaining interior renovations. In the corridors, selected opaque surfaces were replaced with satin-finished glass panels to increase perceived brightness, while new fabrics and materials were introduced throughout the guest accommodation to enhance comfort, durability and ease of maintenance. In the galley, the existing layout and finishes were updated to improve ergonomics and functionality while preserving the original character of the space.
Alongside the living spaces, Lusben carried out an extensive programme of technical and engineering upgrades. Works involved the main engines, generators and key onboard systems, including HVAC, refrigeration, hydraulic circuits, water treatment systems and monitoring equipment. The entire lighting system was upgraded to energy-efficient LED technology, accompanied by a complete redesign of both interior and exterior lighting schemes. At the same time, the bridge and onboard electronics were updated to improve usability, navigational safety and support for the crew.
The exterior areas also underwent significant refurbishment. The teak decks were fully restored through extensive maintenance and refinishing works, while the sun deck was reconfigured following the removal of the existing Jacuzzi, creating additional usable space and providing greater flexibility in line with the owner’s lifestyle requirements.
Among the most demanding aspects of the project was the complete repainting of the hull and superstructure. Thanks to Lusben’s dedicated facilities and environmental control procedures, the work was carried out in a fully protected environment equipped with air management and dust-control systems. The final finish achieved gloss levels approaching 98 gloss, comparable to new-build standards and characterised by exceptionally low surface contamination.
Each story highlights our commitment to excellence, craftsmanship, and innovation in the world of yacht refitting.
