45M “Rose Pigre”, built by Royal Denship Shipyard
The yacht’s refit was initially planned in two phases: urgent work to be completed immediately, while more extensive interventions were scheduled for the following year.
M/Y Rose Pigre, former Odyssey, arrived at the yard in February from Hong Kong. However, a national lockdown was declared in early March.
Once the initial uncertainty passed, a decision was made to revamp the plan: instead of a two-stage refit, the project would become a full transformation of the boat within less than ten weeks. The owner played a crucial role, participating with great determination and, as an experienced individual, supporting this bold decision.

The Main Deck has been redesigned to enhance the use of the aft cockpit. The existing 10-tonne pool, which occupied a large portion of the cockpit, has been removed to make way for an external salon comparable in size to those found on 60-meter yachts. Inside, the dividing wall between the dining area and the salon has been removed, leaving only two slender columns. Thanks to the new lighting design and the updated palette for the floor and walls, the salon now has a modern look with a refreshed sense of depth and space. This work was done concurrently with the painting of the transom, which required meticulous preparation to prevent contamination of adjacent areas.
The most significant part of the refit project took place on the Upper Deck. Not only were the ceilings redone, but the renovation also extended to the bulwarks, which were cut and covered with Canaletto walnut, a material highly valued by the owner. The transformation of the saloon’s shape on the broadside also involved integrating a portion of the floor with kumaru teak, which is now exposed. This Brazilian teak is difficult to source, so close coordination with the purchasing department was crucial to obtain the material ahead of schedule.
The cooperation of all our loyal suppliers was crucial; once the project was presented, they all joined in with great enthusiasm.
By meticulously planning and scheduling every detail, we succeeded in our challenge and delivered the yacht a few days ahead of schedule. The greatest satisfaction came from witnessing the trust the owner placed in Lusben, our workforce, and our employees; this trust was an additional boost that helped us achieve this accomplishment.
Each story highlights our commitment to excellence, craftsmanship, and innovation in the world of yacht refitting.
